Junior boarders opened up their house on Monday, hosting a beautiful afternoon tea for staff. Mrs Picken thanked them, “You were wonderful hosts and clearly very proud of your home at school. Cakes and tea were just what we all needed on a cold afternoon!”
A ‘Scholars’ Easel’ was installed near reception: each week a different art scholar will be asked to display a piece of their work publicly, whether a finished painting, page from a sketch book or work in progress. This week’s display – a selection of photography – was created by Sixth Former Emma.
Prior’s Field was congratulated by Guildford Hockey Club as one of two top schools for girl players, with 30 Prior’s Field pupils now registered as club players for the 2016/17 season. The club is running hockey skills camps during October half term; www.guildfordhc.com.
Sports scholars participated in the first of three Sports Nutrition and Performance Programme (SNAPP) workshops, provided by our caterers Chartwells. Girls will learn how to enhance their sporting performance, studying topics such as the science behind sports nutrition; hydration; carbohydrates and energy; and nutrition while travelling.
