Professional photographer David Watts ran a workshop for Upper Sixth Photography students, demonstrating how to adapt their techniques to different lighting conditions.

Poet, writer and comedy performer Ash Dickinson led a whole school assembly on Thursday, marking National Poetry Day. Mr Dickinson – who has performed in slam championships and tours worldwide – went on to hold a variety of workshops for First to Fourth Formers and some Sixth Form students. Meanwhile, in the woods, First to Thirds were gaining inspiration for a ‘Poet-Tree’ competition, open to all years; the winner will have their name carved into a wooden plaque to be displayed in the woods and joined by winners in years to come.

Mrs Furey shared some fabulous photos from Languages Week, including those of Second Formers performing the play “Les Trois Mousquetaires” in French and the whole school dressed up last Friday for Languages Mufti Day. “We saw some beautiful outfits,” she says, “as well as some fun stereotypes!”

The Music Department celebrated the opening of the new Music, Science and Technology Centre with an open evening for parents and staff, to hear musicians perform and enjoy a glass of Prosecco.
