‘Humbling, eye-opening – and at times completely overwhelming’ was how Head Girl Georgie described a visit at the end of last week, with Deputies Grace and Kay, to London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The Sixth Formers presented a cheque for £1,800 to the charity, representing the majority of funds raised from last term’s Raising and Giving (RAG) day. They were allowed to see several aspects of the hospital, including its lively activity centre, Koala Ward that specialises in neurology, onsite chapel and Morgan Stanley garden which provide reflective space for patients and their families, and the working school that allows inpatients to continue their education while at GOSH. Well done everyone for raising such a fabulous sum; the additional £400 raised by the ‘Alice in Neverland’ themed RAG day is being given to Tinga Tinga primary school in Tanzania.
