Girls and staff had the opportunity to listen to the experiences of Britain’s joint oldest man, Bob Weighton, who – at 109 – visited school on Thursday. Born in March 1908, Mr Weighton talked of his six years in the Far East during World War II, of his interest in other cultures – he journeyed
for six weeks in his early 20s to visit Taiwan and took A Level German at the age of 70 – and of the importance of peace and humanity in the world.
