On Saturday, five girls ran for the Waverley team at the Surrey Schools Cross Country.  First Formers Evie finished 18th, and Christina 22nd in the U13 age group. Third Former Eliza finished 10th in the Junior Girls. Fourth Formers Georgia and Emily ran in the Inter girl’s category.  They all ran extremely well, in such muddy cold conditions.

Congratulations to Evie and Eliza who qualified to run for Surrey in the inter-counties later this term.

On Monday, our U12, U13 and U15 teams attended the GHS relays and had great fun in this relaxed event around Stoke Park.  The teams finished 6th. 7th and 6th respectively.

In the world of netball:

The U16A & U15A played against Royal Russell last week Saturday. Despite some very testing weather and everyone ending up drenched, the standard of play remained high. U15’s won comfortably against their U16B team while our U16A’s fought right to the end and came away with a narrow loss. Players of the match were Fourth Formers Elliot (U15) and Fifth Former Brydie (U16). On Wednesday the U14 C&D teams took to the court against Christ Hospital. Matches were evenly contested with a win for the C team and a loss for the D team. Well done to Third Formers Poppy (U14C) and Jasmine (U14D) who were players of the match.

On the hockey front, most age groups have been involved with matches this week.

U12 A & C teams travelled to Farnborough Hill, U13’s played at home against Howard of Effingham and Guildford High, U14’s faced Sir William Perkins while the U15’s took part in the 4th round of their Independent Schools Cup.

U12A drew while the U12C team lost, well done to First Formers Annabelle and Maisy who were awarded player of the match for their respective teams. U13A won convincingly won against Howard of Effingham and U13B had a great game against Guildford High narrowly losing 1-2. Players of the match were Second Formers Kira (A) and Frances (B). U14’s won 2-0 with Third Former Izzy as their player of the match. The U15’s had their very important Cup match against Surbiton High. After being put under a lot of pressure we bounced back and made Surbiton work hard for their win. Well done girls for a great effort and to Fourth Former Emma for receiving player of the match.

The swimmers have also enjoyed taking part in a gala against Notre Dame.
