It is hard to believe that we are already so close to the end of the hockey and netball season which has been jam packed with several fixtures each and every week and this week was no exception, as all age groups have been involved in at least one if not more matches.
There were some highly competitive hockey matches played at St Theresa’s with our U12’s. The A team came away with a draw whilst the B team won 1-0. Yesterday we took six U12 teams to Guildford High for a wonderful afternoon of netball and it is always so lovely to see so many girls enjoying themselves on the court.
Midweek we welcomed Felton Fleet to play against our U13 B, C, D & E netball teams. Each team worked incredibly well together and really displayed the skills they have been taught throughout the season as they all came away with a win.
The U14’s have been fortunate to have two hockey matches this week. They won against St Edmund’s despite our own Third Former Poppy needed in goal for the opposition and then had a very close encounter with Tormead on a very warm afternoon yesterday. The match was highly competitive with play constantly moving from one end of the pitch to the other and the final result was a narrow loss of 3-4.
Unfortunately, the U15 netball matches against Sir William Perkins were cancelled, however, several of our girls were able to play against St Catherine’s on Monday where the 1st team completely dominated the match and won by 20-7.
The U16’s took part in a netball versatility tournament at The Royal where they had a great time playing this different format of the game. They finished in 4th place out of 7.
Our final matches of the season take place tomorrow with all A teams playing netball against Gordon’s School. Good luck!
